It was a memorable Saturday, penultimate weekend, as members of staff of the University, family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers converged on St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Okokomaiko, Lagos, to witness the solemnization of Holy Matrimony between Mr. Emeka Oluka of the Directorate of Public Relations and Miss Esther Ajayi.
In his homily, Rev. Father Gabriel Udoh, said marriage was the only institution ordained by God, urging the new couple to keep the marital vows and be at peace with each other.
He admonished the new couple to abstain from acts that may constitute stumbling blocks for them in attaining the Kingdom of God.
While praying for the couple and their well-wishers, he noted that prayer was the key to success in life, urging the couple not to toy with the power of prayer.
Fr. Udoh used the occasion to call on the people with different faiths to live together in peace as a way of ensuring national cohesion and development.
