DPR Gears Up for AI-Powered PR Workshop

… To Showcase FUNAAB’s Commitment to Excellence in Communication

The Directorate of Public Relations (DPR), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is poised to break new ground in communication innovation as it sets to organise a landmark training workshop themed “ Leveraging AI for Public Relations Excellence: Enhancing Communication and Reportage in the Digital Age. ”

The capacity-building workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, October 22, 2025 , would take place at the picturesque and iconic FUNAAB Zoo Park, a fast-emerging hub for workshops, conferences, and intellectual discourse within the University. The choice of venue not only provides a serene atmosphere for learning but also highlights the Zoo Park’s growing reputation as a unique destination for academic and professional engagements.

In line with the Directorate’s drive to remain future-ready and globally competitive, the training would feature eminent scholars as Guest Speakers, including:

🔺 Prof. Sam Olufemi Sam-Wobo, Director, Zoo Park – “Use of Artificial Intelligence to Enhance Public Relations Practice.”

🔺 Prof. Olusegun Folorunso, Director, Directorate of Academic Information Systems (DACIS) – “AI-Powered Communications: Practical Tools for Transforming Public Relations Practice in Higher Education.”

🔺 Dr. Abdussobur Salaam, DR I, Senate and Admissions – “The Other Side of Technology in Public Relations: The Place of Soft Skills.”

The workshop promises to blend technology-driven insights with human-centered communication strategies, equipping DPR staff to sharpen reportage, tell the FUNAAB success story more compellingly, and consolidate the University’s image as the leading University of Agriculture in Africa.

Adding further value, the Public Relations Team of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB) would participate, reinforcing inter-institutional collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde is expected to declare the workshop open.

By embracing Artificial Intelligence as a tool for innovation, DPR is not only raising the bar in university communication but also reaffirming FUNAAB’s dedication to excellence, creativity, and leadership across all spheres.
