…Declares Better Days Ahead

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land, has declared that with the inauguration of the 8th Council under his Chairmanship, there are better days ahead for the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
The Aragbiji made this declaration at the University Mosque while addressing members of the FUNAAB Muslim Community during a Jumat Service held on Friday, July 19, 2024.
Delivering his message of optimism and progress to the faithful, the Pro-Chancellor declared, “Better days are here,” for the University and all its stakeholders.
The Chairman highlighted the Council’s swift actions since its inception on Monday, July 15, 2024, noting that the Governing Council was dedicated to addressing the long-standing issues affecting staff and students.
He revealed that his team has hit the ground running by meeting with the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, and he has pledged to rehabilitate the Camp/Alabata Road, a longstanding concern for members of the University Community.
Additionally, Oba Olabomi promised to tackle the housing challenges faced by staff, aiming to ensure that at least 50 percent of staff and students reside within the campus before the end of the Council’s tenure.
Responding to the Monarch, the Chief Imam, Prof. Idris Ayinde expressed gratitude to the Chairman and offered prayers for a successful tenure.
He appreciated Oba Olabomi’s commitment to creating a better environment for the University Community.
With his address to the FUNAAB Muslim Community and the University Congregation, Oba Olabomi has instilled hope and enthusiasm among staff and students of FUNAAB, signalling a brighter future for the University.
