The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), and the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV Asoludero, led the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, and the Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi, including the Bursar, Mr. Olukayode Osinuga on an official visit to the Chancellor of the University, His Royal Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi, Otu V, the Obong of Calabar.
Upon their arrival, the Pro-Chancellor and his Team were warmly received at the residence of Etubom Arc. Bassey Eyo Ndem, a prominent Chief of the Obong of Calabar in Council. Etubom Ndem gave the delegation a tour of his residence, showcasing traditional artifacts and their cultural significance.
The visit continued with a tour of the National Museum in Calabar, where the delegates explored various historical artifacts, gaining insights into the rich heritage of Calabar.
To conclude the itinerary, the Team visited the Marine Resort, where they were briefed on the historical significance of the slave trade era and its impact on African societies. The Pro-Chancellor commended the Resort’s Management for preserving and sharing the vital aspect of history.
