The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land has called for the support of the members of Congregation and the University at large to assist the 8th Governing Council succeed in running the affairs of the University.
The Pro-Chancellor made the appeal at the 36th Congregation Meeting of the University, held on July 17, 2024.
Addressing the Congregation, the Pro-Chancellor appreciated every member of staff for the sacrifices they had offered in propelling the University to its present enviable state.
According to him, “Also visibly noticed is an atmosphere of excellence powered by a visionary Management team led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Babatunde Kehinde whose untiring drive towards advancing the University has given rise to highly motivated and committed staff. I commend the staff for their effort in building the University to such an enviable height.”
He noted that the support from staff would help the Council to leave the University better than they met it.
Describing the beauty of FUNAAB, the Aragbiji said he was personally awed by the University’s greenery, scenery and impressive clean environment which he believed has cultivated a most fertile ground for the promotion of Teaching, Research, Learning, and Community Engagement.
The Pro-Chancellor noted that with numerous academic and developmental strides which had been recorded by FUNAAB, the University was on the path to becoming a World-Class Status which made the task before the new Council a most daunting one, as raising the bar of excellence was usually more tedious than aiming for excellence itself.
The Chairman added that their first assignment as they settled down for business as Council would be to explore every avenue within and even beyond the University to get it run as expected.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde expressed his deep appreciation to the staff and students of the University and welcomed the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council alongside other Council Members.
The Vice-Chancellor hinted the Congregation members about the routine activities that took place in the University between the last congregation meeting.
He charged everyone to discharge his and her duty appropriately and seized the opportunity to introduce the new Governing Council to the Congregation members.
