The immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Mufutau Atayese, has officially handed over the mantle of leadership to Prof. Olawale Dairo, describing him as a competent and visionary scholar.
Speaking during the formal handover ceremony held today, July 17, 2025, at the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Development, Prof. Atayese congratulated Prof. Dairo on his well-deserved appointment, describing him as “a man of excellence, thoughtfulness, and integrity,” with a proven track record of outstanding leadership within the University system.
Until his new appointment, Prof. Dairo was the Dean of the College of Engineering (COLENG). Prof. Atayese expressed confidence in his successor’s ability to further advance the developmental strides of the University.
Reflecting on his own brief but impactful tenure, Prof. Atayese appreciated the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, for the opportunity and support given to him while serving in the position, noting that he took up the role shortly before his appointment as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the newly established Federal University of Agriculture and Development Studies, Iragbiji (FUADSI), Osun State.
The handover ceremony was witnessed by notable members of the University Community, including the former Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ololade Enikuomehin; Dr. Adijat Atayese, wife of the immediate past DVC, Development; and staff members of the DVC (Development)’s Office, who joined in congratulating Prof. Dairo and wished him a successful tenure.
