The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has appointed Prof. Biodun Badmus of the Department of Physics, College of Physical Sciences (COLPHYS), as the new Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning, with effect from May 2, 2026.

The appointment, according to the Ag. Head, Directorate of Public Relations, Mr. Olasunkanmi Olajide, is for a tenure of three years, during which Prof. Badmus is expected to provide strategic leadership in advancing the University’s academic planning processes and institutional development.

Prof. Badmus is a seasoned Academic and Administrator with extensive experience in University governance. He previously served as the Head of the Department of Physics and currently chairs the University’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee, where he has played a pivotal role in strengthening community engagement and promoting impactful institutional initiatives.

Additionally, he served as the former Branch Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), UNAAB Chapter, where he demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to staff welfare and academic excellence.

The newly appointed Director, a former Chairman of the Ceremonials Committee, was also recently honoured by the Governing Council for his meritorious service and significant contributions as a former member of the Governing Council. His recognition particularly highlighted his outstanding role as Chairman of the CSR Committee and his enduring impact on the growth and development of FUNAAB.
