Prof. Sanni Becomes Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences

The Executive Director of the Nigerian Stored Products Research Institute (NSPRI) and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development) of FUNAAB, Prof. Lateef Sanni, has been elected as a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences (AAS). The prestigious recognition underscored his remarkable contributions to scientific research and societal development.

Prof. Sanni’s selection followed a rigorous global nomination process involving over 120 distinguished scholars. Out of these, 80 were shortlisted, and ultimately, only two Nigerians earned induction into the esteemed Academy, highlighting his exceptional dedication to advancing scientific excellence and innovation.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, FUNAAB, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, Odundun IV, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, alongside other notable Nigerians, have extended warm congratulations to Prof. Sanni on this well-deserved honour.

A respected academic and researcher, Prof. Sanni has made significant strides in his field, influencing research, innovation, and policy-making. His latest recognition further cements his reputation as a leading figure in academia and a driving force in scientific advancements across Africa.
