Prof. Bosede Sotiloye, an expert in Communication and General Studies from the Institute of Communication and General Studies, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has highlighted the significance of Orientation Programmes for new employees to guide their behaviour on campus.

Prof. Sotiloye made this emphasis while delivering a lecture at the Institute for Human Resources Development (INHURD) Training Workshop for its staff, themed “Promoting A Supportive Campus Environment: Integrating Classroom Management Teaching Methodologies and Institutional Ethics.”

In her submission, Prof. Sotiloye stressed the importance of ensuring that both new and old employees receive proper training. She advised the Institute to implement ethical guidelines for all staff members.

Prof. Sotiloye, a former Deputy Dean, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD) also urged the Management to recognise and reward good behaviour among staff and students to encourage a positive work and learning environment.

Furthermore, she emphasised the role of staff as role models for students and encouraged them to exhibit good character.

Another speaker at the workshop, Prof. Adebayo Lasisi, discussed the strategies for managing diverse learning needs in mixed-ability classrooms. Prof. Lasisi highlighted the importance of creating a comfortable learning environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning.

Earlier, the Director, INHURD, Prof. Sheriff Adewuyi, commended the organising committee for the workshop and urged staff to actively participate to tap from the Guest Lecturers’ wealth of experience.

Prof. Adewuyi emphasised the importance of staff members playing a parental, teaching, and counselling role for students.

He, therefore, expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde and assured staff and students of continued support from the Institute.
