A former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has expressed his confidence in the ability of the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, to record a resounding success in office.
Receiving the Vice-Chancellor, at his Hill-Top private residence, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Chief Obasanjo, said Professor Oyewole had the wherewithal to take FUNAAB to an unprecedented level, having been part of the institution’s success story since its inception.
“Let me congratulate you, our Vice-Chancellor, on your appointment. Let me also express my joy that somebody who knows the University journey so far had taken over the leadership of the institution”, he said.
Clad in native Adire attire, Chief Obasanjo, who looked trim and fit did not hide his deep passion for the University, reiterating, “Let me say that I have abiding interest and faith in what you are doing. You have essentially kept fate with your mandate”, he said.
Meanwhile, the National Secretariat of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has given assurance that Professor Oyewole will excel in office, based on his antecedents.
NIPR, in a Congratulatory Letter to the Vice-Chancellor and signed by the Registrar, Dr. Stephen Adebayo, said, “We are very convinced that you will excel in this new position, given your competence, capacity to work diligently, enviable record of sound performance, qualifications and experiences, as well as your amiable and humble personality”.
The Institute said it “hopes that this appointment will go a long way to rekindle your (Prof. Oyewole’s) enthusiasm in your resolve for ultimate goals of service to humanity and to take your institution to greater heights”.
