The Part-Time Degree Programme (PTDP) of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), held its Matriculation Ceremony for its students on August 16, 2024.
The event, which took place at the Postgraduate School Auditorium of the University, marked the official welcome of 168 new students to the University for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.
In his address to the new intakes, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, congratulated the Matriculants and urged them to focus on their studies, exhibit good behaviour, and avoid any acts that could hinder their success.
He noted that FUNAAB has a zero-tolerance policy for indiscipline and emphasised that FUNAAB, ranked as the best University of Agriculture in Nigeria and 7th globally, expects excellence from its students.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the students to utilise University facilities such as the Library, Internet, and the Health Center to ensure their academic success and overall well-being.
Earlier, during the orientation of the new students, other University officials, such as the Director, Academic Planning, Prof. Olajide Sogunle, represented by Prof. Segun Oladoye, and representatives from various regulatory units, also offered guidance and advice to the students.
The Coordinator, PTDP, Dr. Enovwo Odjegba, stressed the importance of following the University’s guiding principles, emphasising FUNAAB’s reputation for excellence and hard work.
The ceremony was attended by the Ag. Registrar, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu and some key University officials, including Deans of Colleges, as well as other distinguished guests.
