The Quality Assurance Unit of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), has announced December 17, 2025, as the new date for its maiden One-Day Capacity Training Workshop for Academic staff across the University.

According to the Head of the Unit, Prof. Saliu Amolegbe, the workshop targets Academic staff from the ranks of Graduate Assistant to Lecturer I, drawn from all Colleges, as well as researchers from key Centres and Institutes, including the Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research (IFSERAR), Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre (AMREC), Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE), and the Institute of Communication and General Studies (ICGNS). Newly appointed Academic staff are also expected to participate.

Prof. Amolegbe revealed that an expert from the Association of African Universities (AAU) would deliver the Keynote Address, while seasoned internal resource persons would anchor technical sessions focusing on quality assurance practices and academic standards.

The workshop is scheduled to hold from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Prof. Olusola Oyewole Lecture Theatre and it would be officially declared open by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, with former Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Clement Eromosele (retd.), serving as Guest of Honour.

A highlight of the programme would be the presentation of an Award of Academic Excellence to the Vice-Chancellor in recognition of his steadfast commitment to enhancing quality and standards at FUNAAB.
