UNAAB Ceremonial Road: Work Begins in Full Swing
Barely 72 hours after the University Management awarded contract for the reconstruction of the institution’s Ceremonial Road, work has commenced in full swing.
The Management had at its meeting penultimate Wednesday awarded the contract to Oriental Femab Amimike Quarry and Construction Company Limited.
The Contractor moved to site in the early hours of last Monday morning with the preliminary excavation of the highly deplorable road.
The development led to the closure of one of the two lanes of the Ceremonial Road, thereby prompting diversion of motorists going in and out of the campus on a single lane.
Staffers and students of the University who were welcomed to the Campus by the reconstruction while resuming on Monday expressed joy over the relief they would soon experience from the nightmares the bad road had inflicted on them.
They commended the Management for taking the bull by the horn by awarding the reconstruction of the road.
The reconstruction is expected to be completed within twelve weeks.
