The Registrar, Dr. ‘Bola Adekola has harped on the need for members of staff to shun any form of corruption at work and in general, as well  imbibe the culture of quality service delivery.

Dr. Adekola made this known at the closing ceremony of a Virtual Training, organized for Bursary and Audit Staff Members of the University with the theme, “Achieving Zero Tolerance for Fraud Through Forensic Accounting and Auditing”.

According to him, “We need to imbibe a culture of service which involves integrity, accountability and transparency, among others because everyone has a role to play in making the world a better place”.

Stating that one of the biggest forms of corruption destroying the country today is workplace corruption, Dr. Adekola disclosed that absenteeism, stealing time and resources among many others are some forms of corruption that must be avoided in the system.

He charged the Trainees to be committed to duties and see themselves as stakeholders in the University system, stating that the Management cannot do it alone.

The Registrar further encouraged them to seize every available opportunity to keep training themselves in order to continue to be relevant in the system and to keep gaining more knowledge.

According to him, “This is the best time to pour your pocket into your brain by sponsoring or training yourselves. Knowledge is what matters because competition will be stiffer with time and you must continue to get yourselves lifted knowledge-wise so you can remain relevant in the system”.

He, however, congratulated the participants for the successful training and assured them that the Management will continue to support their course despite the lean resources available to the University.

Meanwhile, the Bursar, Mr. Chukwunwike Ezekpeazu represented by Deputy Bursar II, Mrs. Aderonke Adeofun, appreciated the Management for organising such an impactful Training for Bursary and Audit staff members of the University, stating that it has added a lot of value to them.

He disclosed that majority of the points made at the Training had already been instituted by the Management and encouraged the participants to continue to work effectively for the development of the University.

Also, Director, Internal Audit, Mr. Olufisayo Amubode, represented by the Deputy Director, Internal Audit, Mrs. Yewande Baiyewu commended the Management for the initiative, she noted that the training will help them work together as one in order to achieve their goals while also helping the University to develop in all aspects.
