Dr OLUJIMI, Olusoji Olanrewaju is a Lecturer II in the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, College of Environmental Resources Management, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He started his career with Ogun State Government of Nigeria on secondment to the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta before joining the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in April, 2008. Dr. Olujimi holds a Bachelor degree in Environmental Management and Toxicology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Masters degree in Environmental Sciences from The University of Nottingham, Nottingham, United Kingdom and Doctor of Technology (D.Tech) in Environmental Health from Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape Town, South Africa.
Dr. Olujimi is a recipient of several awards, fellowships and grants including: Federal University of Agriculture undergraduate scholarship award for winning for the University the first Gold Medal at Nigeria University Games (UNILAG 1998), the developing solution scholarship of the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, Ogun State Government Scholarship for Overseas Training, South Africa National Research Foundation Award for Postgraduate studies, Cape Peninsula University Postgraduate Bursaries, A.G. Leventis (Switzerland) Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarships. He was a finalist of the 2012 ENI Award in Italy for his work on environmental protection. Dr. Olujimi was one of the two representatives of Nigeria to the 2013 Nobel Laureates Meeting in Lindau, Germany on Green Chemistry and Environment. Also, He was one of the Africa representatives at the Summer School on Global Food Challenges at the University of Bergen, Norway in 2013. He is a grantee of International Foundation for Science (IFS), Coimbra Europe Scholarship for Emerging African Researchers and Blacksmith Institutes. He has worked as a visiting researcher at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry, University of Graz, Austria and as assistant researcher at the Nano and Environmental Research Group, University of Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa.
Dr. Olujimi research interest is basically on emerging endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in different environmental matrices, pollution monitoring and control, health risk assessment, greenhouse gases removal and synthesis of nanoporous materials from waste materials. Since the completion of his PhD programme in 2012, he has trained 4 undergraduate and 4 professional masters on monitoring and risk assessment of endocrine disrupting chemicals and metals. He currently co-supervised 4 PhD students with senior researchers in the department and abroad. Dr. Olujimi as an emerging researcher developed for the first times an analytical protocol for simultaneous determination of some selected EDCs in water and also using a novel method synthesized nanoporous materials for possible sequestration of greenhouse gases. Dr. Olujimi has presented his research finding in different countries namely United States of America, Malaysia, China, Singapore, Germany, Austria, Kenya, and United Kingdom to mention few. He is a prolific writer and has to his credit 1 technical report, 3 contributions to books (book chapter), 2 conference proceedings, 3 posters and 19 articles in highly reputable local and international journals. Dr. Olujimi has leadership quality required of an upcoming academic giant. Currently, Dr. Olujimi is the co-ordinator of Part-Time Degree Programme for the Department of Environmental Management and Toxicology. He is a lover of God.
