The Senate Committee on the Consideration of Examination Results (SECOCER), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), today, July 14, 2025, held a send-forth ceremony in honour of its immediate past Chairman, Prof. Olusegun Idowu, and the Secretary, Mr. Adewale Ojoye, in recognition of their exemplary service to the University.
The ceremony, which took place at the Green Chamber, during one of SECOCER’s routine result review sessions, had in attendance the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, who extolled the Committee’s pivotal role in upholding the integrity and accuracy of the University’s academic records. He commended the honourees for their dedication, describing their contributions as vital to FUNAAB’s reputation for timely and credible processing of examination results.
The Vice-Chancellor further noted that SECOCER’s efficiency has garnered international recognition, with some foreign embassies commending the University’s swift verification of academic records. He urged the current Committee to sustain the legacy of excellence set by the former leadership.
Earlier in his Welcome Address, the current Chairman of SECOCER, Prof. Abdul-Lateef Shotuyo, acknowledged the invaluable leadership of Prof. Idowu, particularly in ensuring transparency and accountability within the Committee’s operations.
Also present at the event were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi; Registrar, Dr. Titus Adeniyi; and the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Christian Ikeobi. They each commended the honourees for their selfless service and charged the presbent members to remain committed to upholding the Committee’s high standards.
In their separate farewell remarks, Prof. Idowu and Mr. Ojoye expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and the privilege to serve the University. They encouraged the Committee to continue fostering a culture of integrity, diligence, and continuous improvement.
