The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, has pledged its support and desire to collaborate with the University in securing lives and property. The assurance was given by the state commandant, when he led a delegation to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Felix Salako.

The commandant, Hammed Abodunrin stated that “Security challenges are global issues and it is not as if the Nigerian situation is irredeemable. The problem is that we have an unconscious populace, who feel very secured because there were no security threats in the past”. He called for the creation of consciousness awareness among the populace, which would make the people capable of protecting themselves, especially when they have access to vital information.

The NSCDC boss pledged the willingness of the command to answer promptly whenever their attention was needed. The Vice-Chancellor appreciated the command for the visit, which he said was needed at this time when the University’s attention had been drawn to the encroachment on its property. Prof. Salako stressed the need for FUNAAB to be mindful of illegal occupants, to ward off criminally-minded persons, urging the command to be ready to provide internal and external security for the University.
