The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole addressing the matriculating students during the ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole has admonished matriculated students of the Part-time Degree Programmes to desist from Cultism, Examination Malpractices and other social vices.
Professor Oyewole made this known while delivering his address at the Fifth Matriculation Ceremony of the Part-time Degree students of the University.
The Vice-Chancellor who cautioned the new students against social menace that have destroyed many lives, stressed that the University authority will not hesitate to expel, with dispatch, any erring student.
“Let me sound a note of caution to all our students that the University will not tolerate any form of immoral and provocative mode of dressing within the Campus. It is our expectation that every student who passes through FUNAAB “becomes a total “man” in every facet of life”, he added.
Professor Oyewole urged the new students to work hard, believe in themselves, shun pride and arrogance and make the best use of the facilities, noting that they should consider themselves fortunate to have been offered admission to the University considering the high number of prospective students who applied to be considered for the Part-time degree programme.
Earlier, the Registrar, Mr. Mathew Ayoola led the new students in taking the oath of allegiance.
A total of 283 students were offered admission into six of the nine Colleges of the University which admit students into their Part-time degree programmes.
