SIWES Director Bags Heroine Celebrity Award

An Abuja based media organization, Visage Women Magazine Foundation has honoured the Director, Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES), Professor Francisca George with the prestigious Heroine Celebrity Award for her selfless service and contribution to the education sector in Nigeria.

Speaking at the occasion, held at the SIWES Office, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), the representative of Visage Women Magazine Foundation, Mrs. Olamide Akintola stated that the event was an annual ceremony where prominent women who are performing exceptionally in their chosen careers are celebrated, adding that it was a way to let them know that the

Mrs. Akintola noted that this year’s Heroine Celebrity Award was to celebrate women in the education sector and Professor George was selected after a rigorous shortlisting process. Her counterpart in the Southwest is Professor Olanike Adeyemo, the pioneer Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Strategic Partnerships, University of Ibadan, 2017-2021.

Responding to the award, Professor George said that it was a great honour and a call to higher service.

Meanwhile, Visage Magazine is a magazine designed for women and ladies while the Foundation empowers women and nurture the girl-child in the society.
