Dr. ABIBU Wasiu Ayodele is a lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, FUNAAB and researcher in Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology with a strong focus on sustainable bioenergy production. He is a 2012 FIRST CLASS graduate of Microbiology from the Department of Microbiology, FUNAAB and also holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkiye. He is a 2018 recipient of the highly competitive Turkiye Burslari Doctorate Scholarship. He has built a solid academic record through impactful research on biohydrogen, biobutanol, and bioethanol production from agro-wastes. His work also explores the generation of value-added products such as organic acids through fermentation processes.
Dr. Abibu’s research interests span renewable energy systems, waste-to-wealth technologies, and the integration of biotechnology into rural development and food security strategies. He is particularly interested in process optimization, pretreatment technologies, and the application of modeling and simulation tools to enhance biofuel production efficiency.
Beyond research, he is an experienced educator committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students in microbiology and biotechnology. He is also actively engaged in academic collaborations, grant applications, and interdisciplinary initiatives aimed at advancing sustainable energy solutions.
