Prof. (Mrs.)
Prof Dorcas Adetokunbo ADEGBITE is a seasoned Agricultural Economist. She had her PhD, MSc. And BSc in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ibadan in the year 2002, 1989 and 1984 respectively. She also had Professional Diplomas in Cooperative Studies from Cooperative College, Ijeja (Affiliate of Olabisi Onabanjo University) and Education from Federal College of Education Osiele, Abeokuta in the year 2014 and 2019 respectively.
Prof. Adegbite had an excellent background in Cooperatives and Finance and a strong passion for transforming agricultural systems for food security and improved livelihood of rural households. Prof Dorcas Adegbite commenced her academic career as an Extension Fellow II at the Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre and anchored in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 1995 and rose through the ranks to be a Professor of Agricultural Finance & Policy Issues in 2015
She has served in various capacities at the University being the immediate past Director of Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. She teaches Agricultural Finance, Production Economics and Agricultural Cooperatives courses at the University's Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels with extension activities in rural livelihood and welfare improvement to eradicate hunger, malnutrition, food insecurity and poverty.
Prof. Adegbite has successfully supervised over 60 undergraduate, seven M.Agric and three PhD students. She has fifty publications in national and international journals and seven conference proceedings. She has also presented eighteen technical reports. She is happily married and blessed with wonderful children.
