Dr. Oludotun Olusegun Adelusi is a Senior Lecturer and researcher in the Department of Animal Nutrition, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. He is a specialist in Ruminant Animal Nutrition with research interests centred on the evaluation of direct-fed microbials for rumen development and calf performance, utilization of crop residues, by-products and browse species for animal feeding, and the application of multi-omics analysis in additive evaluation. He obtained his Bachelor of Agriculture degree in Animal Nutrition with Second-Class Upper Division from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, in 2008. Driven by his interest in advancing knowledge in animal nutrition, he obtained a Master’s degree in Ruminant Animal Nutrition from the same institution in 2011 and subsequently earned his PhD in Ruminant Animal Nutrition in 2014. Dr Amos also pursued a second doctorate degree in Sustainable Animal Production and Health from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Greensboro, USA (2026). He has received competitive research and academic awards and has participated in several collaborative research projects. In 2022, he received the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) Institutional-Based Research (IBR) grant, which supported his research in animal nutrition. He has also served as a member of research teams on other competitively funded research grants, contributing to research design, experimentation, data generation, and dissemination of research outcomes. Dr. Adelusi has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications. He has received multiple awards and fellowships, including the Laureate Candidate, One Planet Fellowship (2020); Graduate Fellowship Honoree, CISC HBCU Graduate Fellowship Program (2023); Milk Quality and Biotechnology Scholarship, Southeast Dairy Business Innovation Initiative (2024); CoBank MANNRS Fellowship, American Farm Bureau Fusion Conference (2025). He is a member of ASAS, ADSA, IGA, and NIAS, and has supervised both undergraduate and graduate research projects. His research aims to advance climate-smart livestock systems through applied research and sustainable feeding strategies, and he is committed to transferring knowledge through student mentoring.
