Professor Yemisi Ronke Aderinboye is a Professor of Ruminant Nutrition at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria, with 17 years of teaching and research experience in Animal Nutrition. Her research focuses on Ruminant Feeds and Feeding, with particular interest in improving nutrient utilization efficiency through rumen fermentation manipulation and mitigating enteric losses of feed nutrients using natural and safe feed additives. Her work is aimed at developing efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly strategies for ruminant feeding systems. Professor Aderinboye has been actively involved in multidisciplinary and collaborative research projects funded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Nigeria. Her research projects include the utilization of cashew nut shell liquid as a dietary strategy for rumen fermentation manipulation and improved nutritional performance (2014–2015); effects of dietary turmeric on rumen fermentation, nutrient utilization, performance, and meat quality in West African Dwarf goats (2019–2020); and the development of dietary methane mitigation strategies in West African Dwarf sheep using cassava residue and Parquetina nigrescens leaf meal (2022–2023). She is also a recipient of the prestigious TETFund National Research Fund (NRF) grant in 2023 for the project titled “Nutritional Intervention Using Plant-Based Additives to Manipulate the Rumen for Efficient and Eco-Friendly Small Ruminant Production”. She is a Fellow of African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD), Nairobi, Kenya, having received the prestigious AWARD Fellowship in 2015. Through the AWARD Fellowship, she subsequently won the ABCF Fellowship in 2016, which supported her research on “Rumen Manipulation Using Plant Extracts for Improved Nutrient Utilization in Ruminants” at the BecA-ILRI Hub, Nairobi, Kenya. Professor Aderinboye is a registered Animal Scientist and a member of several professional associations. She is also an experienced mentor under the One Planet Fellowship, the second cohort, led and managed by AWARD and the Agropolis Foundation, with support from international development and philanthropic partners. She has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students and has published extensively in peer-reviewed local and international journals. Her research, mentorship, and collaborative activities contribute to advancing sustainable livestock production, particularly through innovative nutritional approaches for improving ruminant productivity and reducing environmental impacts.
