Short Profile

Professor Adewumi had his primary education at St. Luke’s L.E.A. Primary School between 1963 – 1970 (Primary1 -7) Obbo-Aiyegunle in Kwara State, Proceeded to Baptist Grammar School (IBGS), Igbaja, Kwara State between 1971 – 1975 where he obtained West Africa School Certificate in 1975. Prof Adewumi proceeded to Kwara State College of Technology (School of Basic section) between 1975-1977 with Kwara State Scholarship. After completion of his A/Level, Professor Adewumi proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Samaru-Zaria for his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Agricultural Engineering on Kwara state Scholarship between 1977-1980 and graduated with a Second Class honors (Upper Division) in June 1980. Between 1980-1981, he proceeded on his NYSC in Ondo State and was posted to Owo, Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture, Engineering Division and completed his NYSC in August 1981. Professor Adewumi joined his former Department as a graduate assistant in 1982 and enrolled immediately for his Master Degree Programme in Soil & Water Engineering which he completed in 1985. Professor Johnson Kayode Adewumi holds a Doctoral Degree (1998) in Agricultural Engineering with specialization in the broad area of Soil and Water Engineering –(Irrigation, Hydrology, Soil and water conservation – Erosion, Drainage) and an Advance postgraduate diploma in International Irrigation & soil Management at volcanic center, Bet – Dagan, Israel (1986).
