Prof. Olajumoke Olusola ADEWUMI is a Professor of Ruminant Production at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria and a Registered Animal Scientist with over twenty -five years uninterrupted cognate engagement in academic research activities. She started her career as Assistant Lecturer at the former University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, now Ekiti State University and later was employed at the Federal University of Agriculture, where she rose to the rank of Professor. Professor Olajumoke Adewumi research interest is in the area of ruminant production with special interest in milk quality, quantity and milk products, physiology, breeding and measurements. She has more than 100 publications in reputable journals, peer reviewed conference proceedings and chapter in books. She has been able to produce milk products from small ruminants, alternative feedstuff for pregnant and lactating small ruminants and developed models for milk yield and milk quality.
She has supervised over 120 undergraduates, 4 postgraduate diploma, 40 M.Agric. Dissertations and 4 Ph.D Thesis. She has more than 100 publications in reputable journals, peer reviewed conference proceedings and chapter in book. She benefited from Obafemi Awolowo Foundation Scholarship in 1991, Chinese Academy of Sciences Award as a visiting scholar at the Institute of Zoology , Chinese Academy of Sciences, Bejing, China in 2011, ITOCA awardee, and 2017 and 2018 (merged) TETFund sponsored institution- based research grant as Principal investigator. She is a member of the University Senate.
She was the former Head, Animal and Health Production Department during which the department graduated 7 First class students for the first time. She is the Vice President 1, Nigerian Association of University Women (NAUW) and Chairperson, Milk Processing Technical Committee.
