Dr. Olutayo Bamidele Ajayi is a highly accomplished Information Technology Specialist, System Programmer, and academic with over three decades of experience in computer science, IT infrastructure development, and digital innovation. He currently serves as an adjunct senior academic, Babcock University, Ilishan and ICT strategist at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where he has held various transformative roles including Director of the ICT Resource Centre and Head of the Network and Internet Services Unit.
Dr. Ajayi holds a B.Sc. in Mathematical Sciences (Computer Science Option, 1991), an M.Sc. in Computer Science (Management Information Systems, 2002), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2010), all from FUNAAB. His research interests span cryptographic algorithms, mobile agent systems, and cybersecurity. His doctoral work on secure mobile agent frameworks has been influential in the advancement of intelligent and secure network management solutions.
As an innovator in digital transformation within the academic sector, Dr. Ajayi has led several key initiatives, including the deployment of campus-wide LAN, EduPortal data servers, and advanced cybersecurity protocols. His technical expertise is reinforced by hands-on experience in system programming, database management, and network architecture. In assessing the quality, value, importance, or effectiveness of systems, often through systematic inquiry and data analysis, Dr Ajayi became a member of Nigerian Association of Evaluators (NAE) since 12 Oct 2022.
Expanding his academic horizon, Dr. Ajayi earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Petroleum Engineering (University of Ibadan, 1997) and a PGD in Theology (Redeemed Bible College, 2011), demonstrating a unique blend of technical, managerial, and ethical leadership.
In 2024, Dr. Ajayi deepened his engagement with emerging technologies through successful completion of the HP LIFE Online Certification in Data Science and Analytics, acquiring practical insights into data-driven methodologies, analytics tools, and business intelligence applications. He further demonstrated a commitment to leadership excellence by completing a certified course in Leadership for Innovation, positioning himself as a transformational leader in AI-driven ICT deployment.
Dr. Ajayi is currently exploring the integration of Artificial Intelligence into educational systems, with research directions in AI-enhanced learning platforms, intelligent systems security, and AI applications for smart governance and digital agriculture. His recent interests lie in applying AI for e-learning, smart university governance, and AI-driven analytics for policy formulation.
He is a published author with contributions to scholarly literature in SCADA systems, insider threat detection, and secure communication protocols. A regular speaker at both national and international IT and cybersecurity conferences, Dr. Ajayi has presented groundbreaking insights into digital transformation, ICT policy, and security.
Beyond academia, Dr. Ajayi has served on several university-wide committees and policy boards. He is also known for his mentorship, curriculum development, and commitment to national capacity building through ICT innovation.
