Short Profile

Dr Ajibola E.S is an Associate Professor of Veterinary Physiology. He obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1994. In 2006, he obtained an MSc degree in Medical Physiology from the University of Lagos. He later obtained a doctorate degree in Veterinary Physiology from University of Ibadan in 2017.

As a Veterinary Doctor, Dr Ajibola has well over 10 years of professional working experience as a poultry veterinarian in the Nigerian poultry industry. He has also worked as a teacher and researcher with FUNAAB since his appointment in 2003.

Dr Ajibola is a biomedical scientist with research interest in understanding the physiological basis of Pharmacology, Toxicology, Nutrition and Medicine. His research efforts have earned him over 35 publications in reputable peer-review journals. Dr Ajibola is proficient in the use of research techniques such ELISA, HPLC, Electrocardiography and Echocardiography. He is also conversant with use of several Statistical and Pharmacokinetic software.

Dr Ajibola in 2019 won the Institution Based Research (TETFUND) grant to study “Population Pharmacokinetics of Praziquantel in Nigeria School-Aged Children Suffering from Schistosomiasis”. He was also a recipient of the Institute of Food Security, Environmental Resources and Agricultural Research’s (IFSERAR) grant to work on “Cardiotonic Potential of Hibiscus Sabdariffa in Rats” (2010). Dr Ajibola was also a recipient of International Veterinary Radiology Association’s travel grant to attend the 2023 conference in Dublin.
