Dr Dorcas Ibukun AKINLOYE graduated from the Department of Biochemistry, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria, in 2010 with First Class Honours Division. She earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from the same University in 2014 and 2021, respectively.
Dr Dorcas Ibukun Akinloye is actively involved in the teaching and supervision of Biochemistry students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and is also involved in research based in the area of Phytomedicine and Medical Biochemistry. She has attended several conferences within and outside Nigeria. She has published several scientific articles. She is currently a Lecturer and researcher in the Department of Biochemistry, College of Bioscience, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Most of her research focuses on the potential of bioactive constituents, especially from medicinal plants, to prevent, ameliorate, or manage both communicable and non-communicable diseases. She is also interested in studies of xenobiotic interactions or cellular responses to disease or stimulation within living systems to facilitate the development of medical treatments, which could lead to several breakthroughs in health care and disease management.
