Dr. Bolanle Temitope Akinyemi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Pasture and Range Management, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Pasture Production and Utilization, a Master of Agriculture in Pasture and Range Management, and a Bachelor of Agriculture in Pasture and Range Management from FUNAAB. She also obtained a National Certificate in Education from the Federal College of Education, Osiele, Abeokuta. Her teaching, research and community engagements span forage science, pasture production, forage conservation, ruminant nutrition, grassland management, silage technology and sustainable livestock feeding systems. She has extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, project supervision, curriculum delivery and academic administration. She has supervised numerous undergraduate projects and serves as co-supervisor and major supervisor for postgraduate students at both Master's and PhD levels. Dr. Akinyemi's research focuses on improving livestock productivity through sustainable forage production and utilization. Her work covers forage evaluation, pasture improvement, silage production, utilization of agro-industrial wastes as livestock feed resources, methane mitigation strategies, forage-legume integration, and nutritional assessment of tropical forage species. She has attracted research funding through TETFund Institution-Based Research grants and has contributed to several collaborative research projects.
She is a recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, including the African Women in Agricultural Research and Development (AWARD) Fellowship and the Federal Government Postgraduate Scholarship. She is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science, Nigerian Society of Animal Production, Animal Science Association of Nigeria, American Society of Animal Science, and the Society for Grassland Research and Development in Nigeria.
Her scholarly contributions include numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, technical reports, and postgraduate theses in forage science and ruminant nutrition.
