Dr Ben ANYANWU is currently a Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. He is a Native of Asaba in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. He holds a B.Eng Degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria; MSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Option in Materials Technology) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and a Ph.D. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Option in Materials Technology) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

 

He is a Registered Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and a Corporate Member, Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE). He is also a Professional Member of the Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MMSN) and International Association of Engineers (MIAE), amongst others.

 

Dr Ben Anyanwu was among the Team of Engineers for Sykes EnergiProjekts Ltd, Ikeja, Lagos, that designed and constructed the 264,000 Cubic Meter Capacity Oil Depot for Masters Energy Ltd, Akar Base, Port Harcourt; 63,000 Cubic Meter Capacity Oil Depot for Ibafon Oil, Epz Free Trade Zone, Calabar and the 63,000 Cubic Meter Capacity Oil Depot for Matrix Energy, Ubeji, Warri. He joined the services of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta in July 2010, first as a Laboratory Scientist and was later reappointed as Lecturer in September, 2017.

 

He has more than twenty seven (27) research outputs in learned journals locally and internationally. His research interests are in the area of mechanics of non-metallic and metallic materials. It focuses on the enhancement or improvement of materials employed in construction/structural, electrical / electronics, automobile, ceramics and glass applications. Minor areas of his research interest are targeted at cutting fluids formulations for machining, lubrication oils for friction and wear reduction in machine parts, as well as briquette production for domestic heating etc

a. Research Interests
My research interests are in the area of mechanics of non-metallic and metallic materials. It focuses on enhancement or improvement of materials employed in construction / structural and automobile applications, ceramic and glass technology. Minor areas of interest are in cutting fluids formulations and machining, lubrication oils for friction and wear reduction in machine parts, briquette production etc.
