Short Profile

A Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria.  Research engaged in cover divers research topics related to wide range of developmental issues conducted in Nigeria such as education, health, rural sociology, rural development, agricultural extension among others. As a lecturer in a university of agriculture, she focuses on Research, Extension and Teaching. She engages in a lot of gender/extension activities, with focus on rural development, extensive field and classroom experiences in quantitative and qualitative research and data gathering.  She has a PhD in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development (University of Ibadan, Nigeria).

 

She has experience managing sub guarantees on projects. Her passion for gender related activities led her to secure a position as the Executive Director and Programme Manager (with an NGO – Gender Development Initiative) with over 14 years of working with the grassroots including; Society for Family Health (SFH) on Community Outreaches (2012) and National Malaria Elimination Programme (2014), World Bank – HAF II Project in Ogun State (2014-2017), Terres Des Hommes with the support of Child Protection Network (provision of psychosocial and education of children in special situations), rehabilitation of street children, empowerment of indigent families), working with government at policy formulation on child right law, stigmatization, domestic violence etc.  She had built the capacity of over 20,000 adolescents on their reproductive health and rights (Safire, 2018-2022). Works with Women Advocates Research and Documentation Cenre (WARDC) on sensitization of community members on Gender Based Violence (2021 to date), work with She Leads Network to build young women agencies on addressing Gender based Violence, worked with Traditional Women Leaders on addressing issues of violence against women and girls;  handling and reporting of cases. Participates in Civil Society in Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) Project (2020 to date) where community transparency and accountability members are integrated into health care management. Grounded and well-versed in Nigeria's public, private, community and faith sectors. Has experience in VCAT (Value Clarification and Attitude Change) workshops and training to the staff, providers and partners to ensure they can offer destigmatising, non-judgemental, supportive and respectful care to women and girls.

 

Has over 70 (seventy) publications in national and international journals as well as conference proceedings, some awards have been won in the course of working.  She is the immediate past Vice-President, Nigerian Association of Evaluators.
