Prof. AYINDE, Idris Akanbi was born on April 9, 1965 to Alhaji Jimoh S. Ayinde of Ile Ajia, Ita Ajia, Balogun Gambari, Ilorin. His mother hailed from Sabitu Owodunni Compound, Ago Oba, Abeokuta. Prof. Ayinde is a lecturer/consultant/researcher with 26 years’ cognate experience in academic and developmental researches, project management and social services. He is currently a Professor of Production and Environmental Economics in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. Prof. Ayinde is widely travelled and has participated in several international and national conferences/workshops as presenter and resource person.

Professor Ayinde is a Fellow and life member of the Nigerian Agricultural Association of Agricultural Economists, and the Farm Management Association of Nigeria. He is equally the Editor-in Chief of the Association’s journal.

Prof. Ayinde has one hundred and ten (137) publications, comprising 87 journal articles 4 chapters in book, 32 refereed proceedings as well as 1 documentary video, among others. He has supervised over 170 undergraduate students; 34 postgraduate students out of which 6 were PhDs (Six additional are ongoing) and 26 were Masters (with 16 ongoing). He is a reviewer for many reputable national and international journals. Professor Ayinde is a recipient of 15 commendation letters from the University Management. He was the editor of one of the University-based Journal (Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences and Creative Arts [JHSSCA])

Dr Ayinde completed his Quran at a young age and also attended the Markaz-ul-Uluum, wa luggatul Ar’robiyya of the late Sheikh Abubakar Al-Ilory at Adamasingba, Ibadan (May Allah rest his soul in peace). Dr Ayinde was made the Assistant School Imam during his secondary school day (1981-1982). One of the Imams at the College of Agriculture, Oyo (Now Osun) State College of Agriculture, Abeokuta (1985-1987). He became the Deputy Chief Imam of the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta under Imam (Dr) Taofiq A. Azeez (1998-2007) and later became the Chief Imam of the University in 2007.

Professor Ayinde began his western education career at the Army Children School, Mokola, Ibadan between 1971 and 1977. He then proceeded for his secondary school education at Ahmadiyya (now Anwar-ul-Islam) Grammar School, Ibadan from 1977 to 1982. His search for knowledge as an educationist spurred him to Oyo (now Osun) State College of Education, Ilesa from 1984 to 1987; where he graduated as the overall best in his College (With 14 points out o 15). After, he proceeded to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (UNAAB) where he obtained his Bachelor of Agriculture degree in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management (AE&FM) with a second class upper (honours) division in 1994; Master of Agriculture in Agricultural Economics in 1999 and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Agricultural Economics, in 2004.
