Short Profile

Ayodeji Abiola Oyeboade is currently an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Administration, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta. She joined the University as a Graduate Assistant in September 2019. Shortly after this, she attended a six- month internship programme at the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations headquarters in Rome, Italy. There she learnt how to provide empirical-based solutions for worldwide agricultural development interventions in a multicultural and diverse environment. Upon her return to the University and submission of her M.Sc certificate, she was upgraded to the position of an Assistant Lecturer. Abiola is actively involved in teaching, research, and undergraduate student supervision.
Abiola had primary and Secondary School Education in Oyo town, Peace Nursery and Primary School, and Federal Government Girls College Oyo, respectively. After, she proceeded to study Agricultural Administration at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria. She graduated as the best student in her department and entire College in 2015. She won a fully-funded Commonwealth Shared Scholarship to undergo her Master’s degree in Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture. While studying at Exeter, she served as the academic representative of her class, member of the Students- Staff Liaison Committee, and Biosciences council. Abiola graduated in 2019 as one of the top three in her class with a distinction. Abiola had her mandatory National Youth Service in 2017 at the Institute for Agricultural Research, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria, where she served as a Research/Administrative Assistant.
She is a member of the Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD), Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON), Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), and a graduate member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM). Abiola is passionate about agricultural development, food security, and women’s empowerment.
Abiola currently has four publications, and some are under peer review. In addition, Mrs. Ayodeji has received several awards both locally and internationally. These include the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Award, University of Exeter’s Global Excellence Scholarship, University of Nottingham’s Developing Solutions and Dean’s Scholarship for Excellence, Award of Excellence by the Department of Agricultural Administration, FUNAAB, and so on.
