BAMGBOSE, Adeyemi Mustafa

Short Profile

Professor Adeyemi Mustapha Bamgbose, an indigene of Igbesa, Ogun State was born on 15th May, 1962. He attended Baptist Grammar School, Ibadan and Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu-Ode respectively for his primary and secondary educations. He is a distinguished Scholar and Alumnus of the Premier University in Nigera, University of Ibadan. He is indeed a thorough bred UI student having obtained his B. Sc (Hons), M. Sc. and PhD. in Agricultural Biochemistry and Nutrition from UI.

Professor Bamgbose joined the services of FUNAAB as a Senior Lecturer in May 1997 and progressed to become a Professor in October, 2003 and was the 65th Inaugural Lecturer of the Frestigious Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. His administrative and academic experience traversed the length and breadth of the University system, having acted as Head of Department of Animal Nutrition, Member of University Senate (2003 – Date), Member of Appointment and Promotion Committee – COLERM (1997 – 2003), Member of UNAAB Governing Council (2005 – 2010), Director, FUNAAB Universal Conservices Limited (2015 – 2018), just to mention a few. He was the Pioneer Coordinator for Foundation Science Programme, in the FUNAAB- Institute for Human Resources Development. He has been external examiners to several institutions like Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu (2003 – 2005), Federal University of Technology, Minna (2005 – Date), Federal University of Technology, Owerri (2009), University of Ilorin, Ilorin (2009) amongst others. He was listed in in the “Biographical Profile” of 18th edition of “Who is Who in the World” by Marquis Who’s Who, USA in the Year 2000, as well as “Man of the Year 2002” by American Biographical Institute, USA.

Prof. Bamgbose is an icon of repute and has published 84 articles in learned Journals and 32 articles in Refereed Conference Proceedings. He has supervised over 100 undergraduate students, 35 MSc/M. Agric students and 17 PhD students. His research interest lies in the utilization of alternative feed ingredients and agro-industrial byproducts. He had completed researches on utilization of rice milling waste in weaner rabbit diets, enzyme supplementation of agro-industrial wastes in rabbit and poultry nutrition, utilization of processed pigeon pea in diets for broilers, cockerels and rabbits, nutritional evaluation of lesser-known protein feedstuffs with albino rats and many more.

He belongs to many professional and academic associations such as Nigeria Institute of Animal Science, Nigeria Society for Animal Production, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, World Poultry Science Association, Agricultural Society of Nigeria among others. Professor Bamgbose put icing on the cake as he presented his Inaugural Lecture on June 30, 2021.
