Dr. Tolulope Olaseeni BAMIGBOYE is a Lecturer II in the Department of Pure and Applied Botany, College of Biosciences, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). She obtained her B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the department of Plant Sciences, Faculty of Science, Ekiti State University, Ado- Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Her academic specialization is in Plant Ecology with complementary expertise in Ethnobotany, Plant Physiology and Plant Pathology.
Her research focuses on the phytoremediation, medicinal and biopesticide potentials of neglected plants. She has conducted extensive research on the reintroduction of orphan/underutilized crops and identification of plants with high phytoremediation properties and documentation of medicinal plants commonly used within South-west, Nigeria She was a co-researcher on a TETFund-funded project exploring the taxonomic importance of neglected and underutilized Senna species in Southwest Nigeria.
Dr. Bamigboye has over fifteen (15) years of teaching and research experience during which she has taught undergraduate courses, supervised undergraduate research projects, co-supervised postgraduate students and published several peer-reviewed articles in reputable national and international journals. She has also presented her research at numerous scientific conferences and continues to contribute to advancing knowledge in botany.
Beyond research and teaching, Dr. Bamigboye has demonstrated strong academic leadership through several administrative roles within FUNAAB, including FUNAAB Botanical Garden Coordinator, Departmental Examination Officer, member of College Committee on Examination Results (COCER). She is actively involved in undergraduate research supervision and postgraduate co-supervision while contributing to curriculum delivery, academic quality assurance and student mentorship.
Dr. Bamigboye is a member of the Botanical Society of Nigeria and the Nigeria Society of Conservation Biology (NSCB) and has participated in several professional development programmes in scientific writing, bioinformatics, university pedagogy, digital learning and academic leadership. Her academic career is distinguished by a commitment to excellence in teaching, impactful research, institutional service and the advancement of plant resources management and botanical sciences in Nigeria.
