Short Profile

Bankole Ganiyu O. is an Assistant Lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) in the Department of Soil Science and Land Management. He is presently carrying out his PhD in Soil Chemistry; he received MSc. Agric in Soil Chemistry and B. Agric. (Soil Science and Land Management) from FUNNAB. He is extensively engaged in the realms of Soil Chemistry, Environmental Soil Chemistry, Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition. My interest extends to chemical interactions that define the influence of biochar and manure to improve carbon sequestration, sorption characteristics, kinetics and availability of soil nutrients in different soil types; nitrogen, phosphorus and sulphur distribution on different land covers and plantations; impact of soil amendments on soil biodiversity, heavy metal remediation, and restoration; soil remediation of organic and inorganic pollutants, greenhouse gases emission.

PhD-in-view (Soil Chemistry); M. Agric (Soil Chemistry);
B. Agric (Soil Science and Land Management)

a) Effect of biochar and animal manure on the leaching pattern and sorption behavior of nitrate-N, ammonium-N, phosphate and sulphate in soil
b) Soil nitrate and ammonium – nitrogen sorption characteristics, kinetics, leaching and uptake in maize as influenced by biochar integrated with animal manure.
c) Impact of mulching and poultry manure on evapotranspiration and water use efficiency of okra (Abelmoschus escunlentus L.)
d) Effect of organic amendments and woodash on sulphur fractions, sorption characteristics and maize (Zea mays L.) yield in some soils of Southwest, Nigeria
e) Effect of tree species on carbon sequestration and phosphorus distribution of some plantations in Southwest Nigeria
