Short Profile

Dr. Dawodu, Ganiyu Abayomi is a Senior Lecture in the Department of Statistics, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).  He teaches courses in Statistics at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His teaching career has spanned over thirty (30) years. He served as the acting Head of the Department of Statistics from 2017 to 2019.

Dr. Dawodu, bagged his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics followed by a Master’s in Mathematics in 1996. Since then he has studied Computer Science and possess a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) as well as a Master’s.  In 2012, Dr. Dawodu completed his PhD in Statistics where he is now fully resident with his areas as: Statistical Modelling (Probabilistic and Deterministic), Design of Experiments and Computational Statistics.

Dr. Dawodu has published over forty (40) journal articles in his Academic area. His ORCID ID is 0000-0001-6683-7362. He has enjoyed invited positions in International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan , Oyo, Nigeria in 2007; National Mathematical Centre in 2006; UNU/IIST, Lagos. He has since graduated Masters’ (24) and PhD (1) Postgraduate Students. Three (3) PhD and five (5) Master’s are presently working with him from the Departments of Statistics, Agric. Extension and Farm Management and the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has served as reviewer to Science Domain, Journal of Natural Science, Engineering &Technology and the Nigerian Statistical Association.

Dr. Dawodu is a member of Royal Statistical Society, Nigeria; Nigeria Society Radiation Protection (NSRP), NG; Nigerian Statistical Association (NSA), American Statistical Association, International Biometric Society.
