Basirat Olubukola Diyaolu, an Assistant Librarian in Nimbe Adedipe Library, Federal University
of Agriculture Abeokuta is a renowned scholar and educator, who established an amazing path in
the world of academics. Her journey, rooted in humble beginnings, is a proof to her persevering
tenacity and love of learning. Basirat grew up and reared in Lagos, Nigeria, and began her
academic career at Ireti Primary School in Alaba Orile, Lagos. She gained an unquenchable need
for knowledge throughout these formative years, as well as an unwavering faith in the
transformational potential of education. She proceeded to flourish academically while
overcoming the obstacles associated with her humble upbringing at Araromi Secondary School
in Orile-Iganmu, Lagos, building on her early foundation. Basirat, a steadfast supporter of
education, decided to join in a distance learning course at the esteemed University of Ibadan. She
graduated with a second-class upper division as a consequence of her tenacity and steadfast
dedication to her studies, which is a testament to her academic prowess and unyielding pursuit of
perfection. Basirat's accomplishments led to her acceptance to the prestigious Federal University
of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where she received her Master's degree in Librarianship.
She had worked round the various departments in the Library and presently, a Cataloger at
Cataloguing Department. Basirat love helping library users to satisfy their different information
needs. She had published in numbers of Library and Information Science reputable journals but
local and international. The research of Basirat Olubukola Diyaolu has shed light on how
important information and communication technology (ICT) is to the field of library and
information science. She is committed to advancing her field and giving the next generation the
resources they need to succeed in the digital age, which is why she focuses on the impact,
influence, effects, benefits, and importance of ICT in this area.
