A Research Interest
Since 1999, I have been conducting research in the area of rural development studies with specific interests in:
- Rural Development
- Livelihoods Dynamics,
- Agricultural Extension
- Pastoral Studies
- Gender Issues and
- Collective Action and institutions in Natural Resource Management
Within this field, I have conducted research personally and also with multidisciplinary teams.
B Commissioned Projects – Completed
I have participated in over 15 research projects funded by National and International Organization. In three (3) of these, I have personally conducted research funded by international organizations and in the remaining projects I participated as socioeconomistAgricultural Extension/M&E expert, development partner and field officer.
The international researches I have conducted personally are as follows:
- Research on Socio-cultural and Institutional Factors in Agricultural Development n Africa: implications for Human security and Lessons from Japan. A Post Doctoral research project in the University of Tokyo, Japan. 2009 – 2011
- A Study on Property Rights, Access to Natural Resources and Livelihood Security among Settled Fulani Agro-Pastoralists in Southwestern Nigeria. A project funded byInternational Foundation for Science, (IFS), Sweden and coordinated by United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies, Yokohama, Japan; January 2005 – June 2006
- A Study of Pastoral practices and Collective Action for Overcoming Land Accessibility Constraints by Settled Fulani Pastoralists in Southwest Nigeria. A project being funded by International Foundation for Science, (IFS), Sweden, 2007 – 2009
Some of the multidisciplinary researches I have participated include the following national and International projects:
- Head of Project Monitoring and Project Evaluation Team (PMPAT): Adding value to waste in the cassava processing-goat keeping system in Nigeria. A World Bank 2008 Development Market Place Project funded by the World Bank, 2008-2010
