FAKOYA, Emmanuel Olugbenga

Short Profile

Prof. Emmanuel Olugbenga Fakoya started his educational career in University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu State, Nigeria where he obtained Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree in Vocational Agricultural Education, Master in Agricultural Extension Services and Ph.D in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is presently a lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Ogun State, Nigeria. He became a Professor in  Agricultural Extension and Rural Development in  October 2012. His areas of interest include: Measurement and Scaling, Agricultural Statistics, Agricultural Extension Management and Supervision, and Programme Planning. He has over 23 years’ experience in African Agricultural Research and Development and contributing extensively to emerging issues in Agricultural Extension as part of his research and consultancies for international and national organizations. He is endowed with a pleasant personality and capability to work effectively in multi-cultural environments and has participated in funded research projects. Prof. Fakoya is an astute in research which has resulted in publication of over 70 scholarly articles, and he has participated in conferences/workshops/short courses across the world. He served in the University in many capacities such as the Head of Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development, FUNAAB in 2007 – 2011; the Head of Department of Agricultural Extension and Communication Technology, FUTA in 2012 – 2013; Director Centre for Community Based, Farming Scheme in 2013-2018; Dean, College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD) and  presently member of University Governing Council, (FUNAAB). Prof. Fakoya is a member of many International Learned Societies/Professional Associations, some of these include: the Agricultural Extension Society of Nigeria (AESON), Rural Sociological Association of Nigeria (RuSAN), Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN) and Farm Management Association of Nigeria (FAMAN).
