Dr. Olamide Oluwatosin Falaiye is a crop production researcher, agronomist and academic with expertise in sustainable crop production, nutrient management and horticultural crop production. I am a Research Fellow in the Crop and Pasture Production and Sustainable Environment programme at the Centre of Excellence in Agricultural Development and Sustainable Environment (CEADESE), Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
I hold a PhD.AgSE in Crop Production and Sustainable Environment, a Master of Agriculture in Crop Production, and a Bachelor of Agriculture in Plant Physiology and Crop Production. My research focuses on improving crop productivity and sustainability through variety selection, plant spacing, fertilizer management, nutrient use efficiency and sustainable agronomic practices. My research interests include cucumber and okra production, crop growth and development, nutrient uptake, yield, fruit quality, biostimulants and efficient fertilizer utilization. I have authored and co-authored peer-reviewed scientific publications covering horticultural crop production, fertilizer management, nutrient uptake, crop yield, biofortification and nutritional quality. My experience also encompasses commercial farm management, agricultural consultancy, greenhouse production, irrigation management, organic farming, agricultural project management and capacity building. I have contributed to the training of farmers, agricultural beneficiaries and young people in sustainable agricultural practices and agricultural value chains. My work is driven by an interest in developing practical, research-based approaches to improving crop productivity, nutrient-use efficiency, environmental sustainability and food security.
