Short Profile

Fapojuwo Oluwakemi Enitan, an Agricultural Extension Administration and Gender expert hold a Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Extension in the year 2007 from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. She also has a certificate in Marketing Access for Sustainable Development: Towards Pro-poor and Smallholder Inclusive Market Development from Wageningen University and Research Center, Wageningen, The Netherland in the year 2014, a Post Graduate Diploma in Research Methodology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in the year 2011 and a Certificate in Agriculture in Transition from Wageningen University and Research Center, Wageningen, The Netherland in the year 2008. She is presently a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Administration, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Nigeria, a job she got as a Senior Lecturer in August 2009 till date having worked previously at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Nigeria from November 1996 – April 2009 rising through the ranks from Assistant Lecturer to Lecturer 1. She has published several articles in Local and International Journals, Conference Proceedings and Chapters in books on agricultural extension, extension administration, rural sociology, and gender issues. She has taught at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels for about 24years. She has taught courses in programme planning, research methodology, gender mainstreaming, agricultural administration, and extension. Fapojuwo is interested in institutional/organisational support for smallholder farmers, women and gender mainstreaming in agricultural and community-based institutions with specific focus on rural women groups, local institutions and needed institutional and organizational framework for achieving gender mainstreaming in agricultural institutions.

Prof Oluwakemi Enitan Fapojuwo has been involved in some consultancy activities which include Extension services, Capacity development/Training, Stakeholders and Community Sensitisation, Baseline survey, report writing including a policy brief, compilation of technical evidence, Project review, and end of project evaluation, among others. I have specifically been involved in the following; Lead Consultant on NEEDS Assessments/Case Study on the Sasakawa Africa Fund for Extension Education (SAFE) Programmes in Nigeria, February 2020; Team member on Consultancy on Assessment of Oil Palm Clusters Formation and Central Mills in Edo and Ondo States, Nigeria with funding from Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), Netherlands, December 2020; Team member on consultancy on Stakeholder analysis of Oil Palm Smallholders in Ondo and Edo States by Nigeria National Initiative on Sustainable and Climate-Smart Oil Palm Smallholders (NI-SCOPS) Nigeria for the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), Netherlands, October 2019.Gender and extension expert for ECOWAS’ RAAF-PASANAO with the funding support of the French Development Agency (AFD) and Support Programme for Food and Nutrition Security in West Africa (PASANAO), October 2016 to December 2017.

She has technical expertise in Rural Diagnostic Surveys; Project Supervision, Monitoring, Evaluation and Review; Participatory Methods for Data Collection and Local Population Mobilization; Leadership and Skill Development; Data processing and analysis using SPSS, EXCEL, Microsoft Office Packages. She is frequently involved in planning seminars, training workshops, and teaching students up to the postgraduate level in community development activities.  Additionally, she’s a mentor to younger colleagues within and outside her institution and supervises students’ projects and theses up to the doctoral level.

She is a 2011 AWARD fellow and also belongs to The Association for International Agricultural and Extension Education USA and other associations. She is currently the Editor, Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences and Creative Arts, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and a reviewer to the Nigerian Journal of Rural Sociology, Nigerian Journal of Animal Production among others.
