Oluwasegun Olamide Fawibe (Ph.D.) is a plant physiologist and lecturer at the Department of Pure and Applied Botany at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Ogun state, Nigeria. He holds a BSc. degree in Biological Sciences-Botany option (First Class Hons.) and a Master’s degree in Botany (Plant physiology). He is an awardee of the Japanese Government (MONBUKAGAKUSHO) MEXT Scholarship. He earned his Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from Chiba University, Japan where he investigated Greenhouse gas emissions and agro-physiological responses of rice cultivars (Oryza sativa L.) under drip irrigation with plastic-film-mulch. He is a recipient of the Chiba University SEEDS Fund award. His current reseach focuses on the effect biochar application on yield and physiological characteristics of pepper under drip irrigation with plastic-film mulch. He has contributed to the fields of Botany and Crop science with publications in learned Journals.

As a member of the College of Biosciences, FUNAAB, he has taught General plant physiology, Plant Diversity, Plant Tissue Culture, Plant Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics among others. He has also served as visiting lecturer at Pangasinan State University, Lingayen, Pangasinan, Republic of the Philippines. He is a member of the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON) and the Crop Science Society of Japan. He is also a reviewer for both local and international Plant Sciences related journals.
