Brief statement of research interest and activities (to list some papers)

(b)   Outside recognition (e.g. membership of societies, prizes, awards, conference papers, research grants, workshops etc.)

(c)  The use of phytoextracts to induce fish breeding.

About 19 phytoextracts have been tested on gravid female Clarias gariepinus at the Aquaculture and Fishery research farm.

Phytochemical analyses, biochemistry of the phytoextracts have been carried out. Hameatological tests, Carcass Analysis, Fecundity Count.
Hormonal Assay and other Chemical Analysis of the used fish were carried out at the Pathology Laboratory of the College of Veterinary Medicine of the University.

Having studied the results of the first phase of this research. Two out of the nineteen Phytoextracts so far tested exhibit a potential to cause induce breeding in Clarias gariepinus. The research is still on-going.

These are some of the pictures during the research activities.
