Dr Ilori is a Lecturer I in the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He graduated as the best graduating student from the same University in 2005 and after the successful completion of his National Youth Service Corps in the year 2007, he enrolled as a post graduate student in the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics for his master’s degree. He later joined the service of the University the same year. He has received several awards and scholarships among which is the Tertiary Education Trust Fund Scholarship to study PhD in Animal Genetics and Genomics at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Dr. B. M. Ilori serves Post graduate Coordinator of Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Nigeria and an adviser of 50 students cutting across 100 – Final Year Non-graduating (FNG2) levels and lectures four undergraduate courses‚ namely: Introduction to Biotechnology (AGR 203), Basic Animal Cytogenetics (ABG 306)‚ Heredity and Environment (ABG 505), Biochemical Genetics (ABG 506) and three postgraduate courses: Animal Breeding Theory and Programme Design (ABG 802), Molecular Genetics (ABG 808), Immunogenetics (ABG 811) and Basic Statistics for Diploma students (ABG 717). He is involved in research and supervision of students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
His area of interest is in physiological genomics, genetics of disease resistance, bioinformatics, diversity and population studies of indigenous livestock and he has published more than thirty research papers.
