Short Profile

Dr. Oluwakemi Titilayo Irekhore (Principal Extension Fellow) who is an animal nutritionist and extension personnel with over 21 years of field experience is a member of the Extension and Adaptive Research Programme of the Agricultural Media Resources and Extension Centre, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Nigeria. She is anchored in the Department of Animal Nutrition, College of Animal Science and Livestock Production of the University where she teaches and supervises undergraduate and post graduate students. Dr. Irekhore’s interest is more in the areas of animal nutrition and production, organic agriculture and agricultural production for food security, food safety and economic development. She has published locally and internationally in her areas of interest. She has supervised two (2) MSc Projects, over 80 undergraduate students and is currently supervising three (2) MSc research work. She is the Chairperson of the Ogun State Chapter of the Association of Organic Agriculture Practitioners of Nigeria and a Master Trainer in Organic Agriculture for South West Nigeria under the Knowledge Centre for Organic Agriculture in Africa. Dr. Irekhore has been part of several locally and internationally funded projects to improve productivity and livelihoods of resource constrained farmers. She also encourages the participation of youths in agriculture and builds their capacities for different agricultural enterprises. She is the Pioneer of the Agriculture-in-Schools Programme of the University.
