Dr. Adegboyega Ibukun IYANDA is a dedicated animal scientist and academic in the Department of Animal Production and Health at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Currently serving as a Lecturer I, Dr. Iyanda holds a Ph.D. (2014), M.Agric. (2009), and B.Agric. (2005) in Non-Ruminant Production from FUNAAB. He is a Registered Animal Scientist (RAS) with the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) and an active member of professional bodies including the World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) and the Nigerian Society for Animal Production (NSAP).
Dr. Iyanda’s primary research centers on sustainable livestock nutrition, non-ruminant gut health, biostimulants, and novel feed alternatives. His scientific contributions focus on utilizing agro-industrial byproducts such as bovine blood-rumen digesta mixtures and natural phytogenics like bitter gourd (Momordica charantia) to optimize broiler growth performance, haematology, gut histomorphometry, and meat quality. His scholarship is widely published in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus and Scimago.
A committed educator and mentor, Dr. Iyanda has successfully supervised 30 undergraduate research projects and contributed to postgraduate student development. His extensive university service includes serving as the Departmental Part-Time Degree Program Coordinator, Board Member for the Centre for Community Based Farming Scheme (COBFAS), Level Adviser, and Assistant to the Departmental Undergraduate Seminar Coordinator. Beyond academia, he brings practical administrative and operational leadership from his previous positions as Senior Agricultural Officer at COBFAS and Manager within commercial farm setups. Through his teaching, research, and community extension, Dr. Iyanda continues to advance sustainable animal agriculture and poultry production in West Africa.
