Short Profile

Professor, Jegede Adebayo Vincent was born on 11th October, 1972. He is a native of Igasi-Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria. He attended Local Authority Primary where he obtained Primary School Leaving Certificate in 1982 and St. Augustine’s Comprehensive High School, Oye Ekiti, where he obtained West Africa School Certificate in 1989. Young Adebayo later proceeded to Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta for his Bachelor of Agriculture (2nd Class Upper Division), 1999, Master of Agriculture specialising in Animal Nutrition in 2003 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) specialising in Monogastric Animal Nutrition in 2007.

Professor Jegede joined the services of the Federal University of Agriculture in 2001 as Graduate Assistant and rose to the rank of of Professor in October, 2015. He has won several research grants such as TETfund-IBR on National research grant on “Viable options for development of complete micronutrient mixtures for poultry using adaptable technologies”-December 2014 -2016, 2014-2016, Nationally Coordinated Research on Poultry (NCRP-Poultry) funded under West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP).- 2015, Tetfund-NRF on Use of white and red sorghum in poultry feeding and implication of locally produced tannase enzyme 2019-2022.

Professor Jegede has served the university in several capacity: Acting Head, Department of Animal Nutrition (2015-2017), Member, Senate Coordinating Committee on Examination Results (SECOCER) 2015 till date, College representative, Admission Committee (2015-2018), College Representative, Timetable Committee, 2009-2012, Member, Teaching Farms Management Committee (TEFAMAC), 2003-2012 among others. He belongs to several professional bodies such as. Nigerian Society for Animal Production, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Animal Science Association of Nigeria, World Poultry Science Association - Nigerian Branch,  Agricultural Society of Nigeria, Nigeria Institute of Animal Science.

Professor Jegede has over publications in national and international articles. He has supervised 115 undergraduate students’ projects and 40 M. Agric dissertations and PhD thesis.
