Mr. Mudasiru Opeyemi is a native of Ibadan, the State Capital of Oyo State in the Southwest of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was born on the 9th July, 1986 in Mudasiru Lawal Family.
Mudasiru Opeyemi basically obtained his primary education at Ibadan Municipal Government (IMG) Primary School II Agugu, Idi-Obi and certified in 1998. He attended Lagelu Grammar School Agugu, Ibadan for his Junior Secondary School Education from 1998-2001 and thereafter Oyo State School of Science Pade where he read Science from 2001-2004.
Mudasiru Opeyemi holds a bachelor’s Degree in Biology (2011) from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. In 2012, he served as a youth corps member (NYSC) in Sultan Abdur-Rahman School of Health Technology, Gwadabawa, Sokoto State. After his Youth Service in Sokoto State, he proceeded to the Premier University of Nigeria, University of Ibadan for his Masters Degree where he had M.Sc. in Botany (Plant Taxonomy and Biosystematics) with Ph.D proceeds (2014). He is currently on his Ph.D Degree programme in Botany (Plant Taxonomy and Biosystematics), University of Ibadan and he is making considerable progress.
Between November 2006 – May 2016, Mudasiru’s worked as a Biology Teacher with private secondary schools in Ondo and Oyo States respectively.
He started his career with University of Ibadan in June 2016 at Department of Botany, University of Ibadan, Nigeria as a Teaching and Tutorial Assistant, where he had responsibilities to assist the academic staff in class and giving tutorials to the students when needed; to assist the academic staff members in conducting practical’s for undergraduate students; and to mentor both undergraduate and postgraduate students on Herbarium preparation of voucher specimens.
On 20 September 2019, Mudasiru Opeyemi was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Botany, College of Bioscience, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.
Mudasiru Opeyemi has publications in reputable journals. He is a Life Member of International Society of Environmental Botanists (ISEB); an Annual Member of Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON) and Nigerian Field Society (NFS).
Mr. Mudasiru Opeyemi attended Indian Plant Science Congress at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Kattankulathur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He participated in the recent Global conference on Plants and Environmental Pollution at CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute Lucknow, India and has attended a host of other conferences and Workshops both in Nigeria and overseas.
A seasoned Teacher and Researcher, disciplined and incorruptible, he is firmly committed to discharging his duties with vigour, honour and integrity. He believes in strong educational institution as an indispensable tool for sustainable economic growth in Nigeria.
He has too numerous meritorious awards to his credit.
Mudasiru Opeyemi is married to Mrs. Bolanle Mudasiru and the amazing marriage is blessed with a child.
