Dr. (Mrs.) Elizabeth Tolulope Obiwole is a distinguished Lecturer of the Department of Pure and Applied Botany, College of Biosciences, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Abeokuta, Nigeria since 2019.

She had her higher education at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Botany in 2008 followed by her Master’s and PhD degree in Botany in the same University. She is a member of the Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), Nigerian Field Society (NFS) and also a board member of the College of Biosciences in FUNAAB.

Dr. (Mrs.) E.T. Obiwole began her academic career at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Nigeria as an Assistant Lecturer in 2019. She has her specialization in the area of Plant Anatomy in Botany. Her research activities cut across several fields of Botany like Plant Anatomy, Plant Taxonomy and Biosystematics. She is rapidly growing in these areas with robust cutting edge innovative in the pipeline. She evaluated the taxonomy of twelve species of Cyperaceae during her Master’s degree program and she was able to separate the taxa into two separate tribes using both morphological and anatomical evidences. Also, she also carried out her PhD. Work on sixteen species of the family Apocynaceae and Asclepiadaceae using different taxonomic tools like morphology, foliar anatomy (venation, leaf epidermal studies, Transverse sections of leaves, petiole anatomy) and wood anatomy. From her work, she was able to support the researchers that grouped the two families together as one large family Apocynaceae.
